Like any other boys ,I'm also obsessed about bikes very much from my childhood .Collecting bike pictures was the craziest hobby during my school days and I had hunted for bike stills from any source .If my father had seen an artistic paper cut in any magazines or newspapers ,he knows that they were the imprints of his naughty son for bike pics .Unlike other boys ,I learned biking at an early age and I literally counted my days for my bike .Seeing my excessive focus on bikes ,my father promised me to get one with a package deal .The deal is all about getting more than 90% in my 10th board exam .Which is obviously an unachievable one and I Knew that I'm never gonna get a bike .My mighty hearted father never lost his hope on me .He came with the same deal during 12th class and this time my target was little bit higher than my previous target .I tried ,but I lost the race once again.

At last ,during my end semester my father offered the deal without any package .My fantasy came true ,yes I'm going to get a bike of my own .I had only two choices either Bajaj pulsar or Honda Unicorn .After some long sessions of googling reviews and personal view of pulsar and unicorn owners ,I made a decision to buy Honda Unicorn on seeing its unique features that no other bikes in the market has .I booked The All New Honda Unicorn and I got it after 3 months .Its yet another hell of time in waiting for delivery.


Here I'm gong to tell my personal review about Unicorn .Its been 4 months from the date of my purchase .I think this is the apt time for me to write review for this bike.

Honda delivers the strong revving engine perfectly designed for Indian roads .The engine is so smooth that one can't guess whether the engine is on or off during a traffic signal .As far as the pickup is concern ,It has the best .The bike delivers any speed with the same smooth riding comfort .Clutch is very smooth ,so less force is enough .When I talk about gear shifting ,a feather touch from your feet is enough . The unique feature of the engine is that ,It delivers high torque at low rpm ,thus it reduces the necessity of frequent switching to a lower gear in city riding conditions . In previous versions of Unicorn It came with a conventional heel-toe shifter ,which is replaced with a toe actuated single lever in new Unicorn.

The one of the key aspect of any bike is mileage.Though Honda promises a mileage 60km/ltr,Its gives only from 48-50 in city and 50+ on highways .This is an amazing mileage for a 150cc bike .If you are a frequent gear shifter ,It will drop further down .My big advice is don’t use speed , premium or any other nutritious petrol. It is claimed by many mechanics and in my service center that these types of fuels will cause corrosive damage to cylinder walls and pistons .So beware of it.

When we go for style It’s unique among its class. It has aerodynamic body , sporty headlight ,sleek design ,appealing tail lamp and a muscular fuel tank with knee grip ;which gives you an excellent control over the bike ,while riding .Though Honda is a pioneer in bike manufacturing ,they have a poor taste for bike graphics .But ,I thank god for replacing all those graphics with a Chrome plated 3D logo ,which enhanced its looks better .Compare to older Unicorn, even Saree guard and Exhaust heat shield are painted black to enhance the look .The new version also added Handle bar weights for better stability and control.

The unique feature of this bike is the Mono Suspension. It decreases friction loss lot better than twin shock absorbers . The suspension is close to the center of gravity of the machine, which enhances stability and comfortable ride feel .Second uniqueFeature is the puncture resistant Tuff-up tyres and the third on is the head lamp flasher works even if the engine is OFF. Which is not found in any other 150cc bikes.

So If you ever wanna bike with style , performance , mileage ,comfort and control at a reasonable price , then better go for Unicorn blindly .

Will The Paradise Be Saved For Mudumalai Animals

It was another pleasant breezy evening of one of my ending days in college.Me and couple of my friends were heading towards prize distribution ceremony of my friend Balaganapathy's for Photography ,conducted by the nature club.The program started as usual with the astounding Anthem of our college.After that,One by one all the distinguished guest started delivering their speeches ,which bored enough of me to go far a small nap.Suddenly,I was woken up by the big applause for The chief guest Mr P. C. Tyagi I.F.S, Additional Director and Conservator of Forests, Tamil Nadu Forest Academy, Coimbatore.He didn't spoke much about photography .Instead,He had spoken something interesting and amazing about forest conservation,endangered species of animals,Tiger poaching and loads of data about Tamil Nadu forestry.As I always have a passion towards wild animals.It was like a 1hr Discovery channel program to me.Though it had been interesting ,I wonder ,why he was telling about all these facts in a prize giving ceremony.At last he landed where he want to be.Actually,He was in the middle of the anti-campaign against one of the most disastrous Incident going to happen in the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary.The threat came in the form a big science project to be built under the core buffer area of Singara tiger reserve ,just outside the Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary.The project is all about the construction of an India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) ,which is all set to wipe out nature.He told many facts and figures of the project and their impact on the ecosystem.His nerve bursting speech , concern for wildlife and ecosystem,encouraged me to write this article.

Neutrinosare the smallest particle ,which will be helpful in understanding of the formation universe.The Study of these particles will lead to many unimaginable discoveries in physics and It will be a pride to our nation.The project worths over 900 crores ,involves some of the leading scientific organisations of India such as Tata Institute of Fundamental Research,Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, IIT Mumbai, Institute of Mathematical Sciences.The observatory is about to build under the earth of about 1km deep.

To do so....

* 450 tons of explosives will be used to dug the 2.3km long tunnel with a cavern at the end of the tunnel.which quite enough to disturb the habitat of wild animals in the reserve

* 2,25,000 cubic meters of earth will be expelled to make the land filthy.


*52,000 tons of sand, 17,000 tons of steel and over 100,000 tons of
jelly and 100,000 tons of steel would be needed for contruction.

* 300,000 tons of material will be transported through this two Tiger
Reserves Mudumalai and Bandipur, an important corridor between Masinagudi and Singara.Equivalent of one 10 ton truck passing through these Tiger Reserves every 15 minutes for 10 hours daily, for two years and one month.There are always a few victims peacocks, deer, small game and even occasionally a leopard hit by a speeding truck, bus or car.


All these datas are proposed one.As project proceeds requirements will change over time.The damage was already made by PUSHEP (Pykara Ultimate Stage Hydro Electric Project)of Tamil Nadu government at Masinagudi and It has grown from a village of a few hundred people to a town of 10,000 because of this power station.PUSHPEP was underway, quarry muck was dumped into the important forest water resource for animals,the Karimar water hole, which flows into Moyar river.Making the water impotable for the animals.There has bees a huge loss of indigenous fish and other aquatic species on this stretch of the river is reported and the entire impact of the project on the acquatic fauna is still not known entirely.

Why Singara? is the question strikes in everybody.The reason is, Neutrinos are sub-atomic particles and can pass undisturbed through any matter and are very difficult to detect.In an underground laboratory, rocks can block their movement and that is the reason why Sinagra was chosen as the site has dense granite underneath its forests and has easy access to Mysore about 90 km and Coimbatore 100 km.


It Sounds perfect and good enough to build the project.But this needs to be considered that the road cuts right through a very important wildlife corridor, the Kallamalai-Singara-Avarahalla corridor, used by wild animals to move between the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and the Segur plateau and the Eastern Ghats. With 25% of Asian Elephant population and stable Tiger numbers, Mudumalai is internationally
recognised for its wildlife.

The war has began between Environmentalists and Scientists.But,the decision is all upto the Tamil Nadu forest department to save the lifes of wild animals and ecological imbalance.Will they save ....???????????

Can We Save a Sparrow For Our Child

During my childhood days,my morning always begins with this little guy,chirping along the window alone or with is girl friend .He is non other than Mr.Sparrow.The bird is an exemplar of a commonplace bird.Being a social bird ,it thrived around we human beings and where food was abundant.The bird is so versatile that it can breed and grow in any type of landscape .It is tolerant of climatic changes and high mortality, provided that adequate food supply is always available.Its so cute to watch them constantly chirping among within their group and Its is evident that they are united,when u scare them,they fly as a single flock.Living in close proximity with humans ,they build their nests in almost every house.Also, the birds were used to pecking at grain in backyards of homes where paddy was cleaned. Grain spills outside godowns or provision stores drew a lot of sparrows twittering over them and they lived happily with their groups.

Their happiness didn't lost for days.Rapid urbanisation and increasing pollution spelled doom on this small little creature.I think the root cause may be,they were not left any space to build nest as the massive buildings leads to cutting trees.The sterile and smooth walls and ledge-less roofs have left them no place to nest.Usage of polythene bags,pesticides on crops,human concern towards them altogether vanished this creature from our site.I had seen some birds in Trichy . when i moved to coimbatore ,I haven't seen any of them,may be they abandoned this growing polluted city a long back.The disappearance of this sparrow is not something new and it is restricted by boundaries.In Europe the population of sparrows fell drastically by up to 85 per cent in London and it declines every corner of the world.

controversies ahead,the main reason for the declines have been caused by a combination of reduced plant food in winter, reduced insect availability for chicks, and reduction in available nest sites.This pictures the modernization agriculture practices and its attributes have been changing over years.Mechanisation of grain harvest and more effective storage of grain and animal feeds all reduced sparrows access to food.

I hope our kids would see them not mere pictures in the future and I'm damn sure that We'd admire them for hours together. But ,as time passes,we will forget all about their existence.

James Blunt

It was during this summer break, I stumbled in to the music of James Blunt.Its a song from his first album, 'You're Beautiful' and after listening to that song, I felt so terrible for being ignorant of his music for the past four years.I'm sure you will like his songs,especially if u are/were in love ,they are ur best. I feel very much greatful to write an objective article about him.


The singer begin his music career with piano and violin lessons as a child, then in school days he started playing guitar and writing songs.As The British Army sponsored his University education,he was obliged to serve them for four years.Blunt continued music after leaving army in 2002.By 2004 Blunt released his debut album 'Back to Bedlam',the album had a slow climb in UK Albums chart and but eventually reached #1 in early 2005 and has since become the best-selling album of that year and of the 21st Century in Britain.Blunt's tunes are emotionally rich with a blend of romantisicm,folk ,rock,guitar,pop and soul.All together lifts you up to a new space of music.This is apperent when you listen to his debut album 'Back to Bedlam'.The songs are overflow with emotiveness.



After the success of debut album Blunt's next studio album is 'All the lost souls'.The song '1973' will probably be one of the most watched videos in YouTube.The tracks I plug in my ears the most are you're beautiful,1973,carry you home,good bye my lover,One of the brightest stars,Shine on,Give me some love.If you ever fall in love ,don't miss the music of this monkey king .I donno when his next album will be released,so far no official news out yet. I'm eagerlly waiting to plug in my ears .

FRIENDS

There are two kinds of people in the world,One who had seen friends and the One who does'nt.My crawling days of waiting for my Call letter went little bit faster cause F.R.I.E.N.D.S .I had seen my friends shri,vibushan and vivek in college talking all day about F.R.I.E.N.D.S and byhearting dialogs .I used to think what kind of people they are ,the show is nothing but about six people sitting in the coffee house talking , cracking jokes and a bunch of people laughing off the screen.

Untill I saw an episode from 4th season "The One with the Embryos" I'm the kind of people who does'nt watch FRIENDS.After that I felt so bad for mocking at those guys and I started watching FRIENDS a season a week and completed 10 seasons at a row in one and half months.Though i comlpleted the show its fever still prevailed in me and i watched it again and again .Now I'm watching all 10 seasons for the 10th time.I become so mad than those from my college.I found this as one of the greatest way to alleviate stress next to Counter Strike.

Hi people I'm Rathish.It really took a longtime for me to start blogging,though I created an account a long back when blogging fever begins.All I wanted is an idle time for me to sit .But I never thought I've been idle for a long time ,waiting for my Call letter.I always wanted to share my thoughts about many stuffs and I think this is the best place to do it.So here I start blogging  with this as my first post.
